my husband just bought an old belmont barber chair. He has no idea how old it is and can't figure out how to raise and lower the seat. Can some please help? Thank you.

Hi Ggeorge most belmont chair start about 1930's post a pick ill see if i can date it. ill try find a web site that i used a few years ago to date mine.

He's more interested in how to make the seat go up and down than the age right now.

My Daddy used a Belmont chair that I am having redone, to raise and lower his, you pushed the side arm forward and jacked it up if I remember correctly, and you hold it forward to lower it. Let me know how it works for you. I grew up playing in my Daddy's shop.
