Wood Berninghaus or Koken?

A late 1800's (I suspect) wooden chair fell in my lap last week. It was represented to be a Koken...it has Koken hardware on foot rest. Upon close inspection of the hydraulics....It does not look like my round bottom, porcelain Koken. Looking at images in internet, it appears it may be a Berninghaus made, but sold by August Kern. I can find almost no information on this chair. Does anyone know anything about Berninhaus/Kern chairs. If it is a Berninghause, I will need the foot rest...Any out there?

HI THERE- I HAVE A SIMILAR CHAIR W/ A TAG THAT READS "AUGUST KERN BARBER SUPPLY CO PATENT #### 1901 (OR 1904)". I THINK WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT, FINDING OUT ANYTHING ABOUT THESE "AUGUST KERN" CHAIRS IS REALLY TOUGH. I WOULD ASSUME THAT MAKES THEM MORE RARE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHAIR!
