I have aquired an old (around 1910 - 1920) Koken Barber chair. It is completely disassembled. I think I can figure out the bracketing but can anyone help with the hydraulics. I'm sure they should be refurbished. I have the cylinder and piston but I'm not sure how it all goes together and what will need to be replaced.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I will also need to replace all the wood and upholstery.
Thank you, Neil

I too have an older koken chair. I just took it all apart. There is a rubber seal at the very bottom of the cylinder. Make sure that is not worn out. Mine leaked oil out of the bottom of the cylinder and I am hopping that was the problem. Also I read that there should be a leather seal on the bottom of the piston where the little flapper is. Good luck
